Accessibility
Employment Atlas is built to be used by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnifiers, or voice control.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on every page. We test each page with automated checks and by keyboard at phone and desktop sizes.
Built in
- Display settings at the top of every page: larger text, high contrast, and reduce motion. Your choice is saved on this device only.
- A "Skip to main content" link, clear headings, and landmarks for screen readers.
- A strong focus outline so you can always see where you are when using a keyboard.
- Text and colors with strong contrast.
- Plain language, short sentences, and the Atkinson Hyperlegible font, made for readers with low vision.
- Pages that work at any width, from a small phone to a large screen, and at 400% zoom.
